Transforming a Kenyan Maasai Village

We are empowering a group of widows with a forty-percent HIV rate, who often bear the greatest burden in rural communities. We’ve started 35 small businesses for these ladies, who use some of their meager earnings to send orphans to school and convince many in their village to stop female sexual mutilation practices. They are heroes.

Each of these 35 small businesses are designed to provide a steady source of income for the women and their families. These businesses range from farming and poultry projects to handicrafts.

The income generated has not only provided food and shelter but has also enabled the widows to send several orphans to school—breaking the cycle of poverty and giving the next generation a brighter future.
But our vision goes beyond financial empowerment. We aim to enhance the outreach of this group, which goes door-to-door to convince villagers to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Transforming a tribal village is not just about economic growth—it is about restoring dignity, preserving culture, and building a future where no woman or child is left behind. At On Eagle Wings, we are committed to walking alongside these communities until lasting transformation is a reality.
